The environmental certificate GREEN KEY

From the moment we opened our doors, we made it our mission to create a hotel experience that’s kind to the planet. That commitment is reflected in the choices we make every day—from reducing plastic and paper use to encouraging smart energy habits and offering easy ways for guests to make eco-friendly decisions during their stay. You’ll find signs of it all around—from the reusable amenities in your room to the carefully labeled bins. We’re proud holders of the Green Key environmental certificate, an international recognition awarded to tourism businesses committed to sustainable operations. It’s more than just a badge—it’s proof that we meet strict criteria in energy use, waste management, water conservation, and community engagement.

But we also know sustainability isn’t something we do alone. That’s why we invite you to join in with small, meaningful acts: refill your bottle with Ljubljana’s pristine tap water, take the stairs instead of the elevator, or explore the city by bike. Because every step—no matter how small—moves us toward a greener future.

Sustainable practices

tAP WATER IS SAFE TO DRINK

Ljubljana is one of the few European capitals where tap water is 100% natural and safe to drink—no processing, no plastic, and no extra cost. Fill your bottle, skip the single-use plastics, and enjoy some of the purest water you’ll find anywhere.

WE SEPARATE WASTE ACCORDINGLY

We take waste separation seriously—and we’ve made it easy for you to do the same. In your room, you’ll find two bins: one for packaging and one for bio waste. In the bathroom, there’s a bin for mixed waste. For paper, glass, and metal, just bring them to reception or leave them on your desk for us to collect. Every small choice counts, and keeping our environment clean starts with the way we sort.

LESS PLASTIC, LESS PAPER, MORE PLANET

Plastic presents a great threat to the environment and humanity. Slovenia in 2020 produced 489 kg of municipal waste per resident on average. Yearly individual use of single-use plastic bags is 100 to 300 pieces. Globally we produce more and more plastic, out of which 6,4 million tons lands in nature. Plastic pollution is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet—and we’re committed to cutting it down wherever we can.

LOWERING OUT CARBON FOOTPrint

Our hotel is designed with sustainability in mind, from energy-efficient windows to excellent insulation. To help keep rooms cool and reduce the need for air conditioning, we suggest airing out your space in the morning and evening, and keeping shutters closed during the hottest part of the day. It’s a simple shift, but one that helps conserve energy and reduce emissions—one breeze at a time.

EXPERIENCE THE RICH LOCAL CULTURE AND NATURE
